5 Effective Promotion Actions to Drive Customer Sales

Shoppers are looking to regain a sense of normalcy during this holiday season, and promotions will be the key to motivating consumers to complete a purchase.   To help you sell more this season we’re sharing the 5 most commonly used Promotion Actions to spark your creativity for planning your best holiday promotions.

Discounted Order – Discount an entire order based on a percentage

Configuration Options:

  • Percentage: What is the discount percent?
  • Stacking Enabled: This controls the behavior of this action as it relates to other “Discount Order” or “Discount Order Line” actions.

 

Discounted Order Line – Discount an amount designated to a single order line

Configuration Options:

  • Apply to Existing Item: If checked the promotion engine will apply the fixed price to items already placed in the order.
  • Taxable Amount Multiplier: What percentage of the original price of this item will remain taxable after the discount is applied?
  • Shipping Value Multiplier: What percentage of the original price will be subject to the shipping calculation after the discount is applied?
  • Volume 1-4 Multiplier: What percentage of each Volume should the Rep accrue?

Fixed Price Product Extended – Add a product to existing order for a fixed price

Configuration Options:

  • Taxable Amount Multiplier: What percentage of the original price of this item will remain taxable after the discount is applied?
  • Shipping Value Multiplier: What percentage of the original price will be subject to the shipping calculation after the discount is applied?
  • Volume 1-4 Multiplier: What percentage of each Volume should the Rep accrue? This is calculated against the original amount. Volumes 1-4 are defined in your Compensation Plan.

 

Forced Product Purchase – Force a product at full price onto an order. This can be used to award Free Gift Certificates, or to simply force the purchase of a product based on what is in the current order.

Configuration Options:

  • Quantity: How many of the selected item would you like to force into the order?
  • Item #: What is the item you would like to force into the Order?

Shipping Discount – Award free or discounted shipping to customers when certain qualifications are met

Configuration Options:

  • Discounted Shipping: Offer a set percentage off of the shipping charges for qualifying orders.
  • Flat Amount Shipping: Set a flat rate (in dollars) of shipping to be charged on orders that qualify for the promotion.
  • Free Shipping: No configurations needed on this one! Just selecting Free Shipping in the drop down is enough to tell the system what action to take.
