PRO TIP: Leveraging Pro Reporting

You’ve likely been asked for ‘Real-time’ reporting, either from your field or from internal teams. Delivering on this request can be daunting, as you need to dig into report sources and navigate data structures. The good news is: our data reporting is structured; and once you identify the underlying source of information, you can easily make decisions/adjustments to satisfy the needs of your team.

First, it’s important to understand which areas of Revolution are updated in ‘Real-time’ and which ones are a result of your bonus run completion. It isn’t actually the location of the report that determines the frequency of update, it is the source of the data. Reports either contain commissions agents or transactional data.

Transactional Data

All volumes and order listings are updated as activity occurs. Areas where this data is displayed include:

Order Listings All order reports, from personal orders to downline views, pull transactional data and are therefore ‘real-time’.
Volumes Volume reporting (Commissions>Volumes) displaying personal and team volume, including summary and drill down views.
Customer Manager Whether you’re using the Customer Manager Report or the classic Customers listing, order information (Order Dates, Items Purchased, etc.) pulls from transactional data and are therefore ‘real-time’.
Customer Groups Like Customer Manager, the filters used to populate these groups use transactional data.
Trigger and Trigger Threshold Alerts Alerts triggered by transactional information (such as new Customer accounts, new orders, Downline recruits and Downline orders) are all ‘real-time’.

Bonus/Commissions Data

Showing projected Ranks, Payouts or related underlying bonus data requires an automatic “Bonus Run” process to run in order to show these updates.  By default, your bonus run occurs once daily, during the overnight hours. However, additional runs can be purchased in order to increase the frequency of updates for this data. Areas where this data is displayed include:

Rank Progress/Status The dashboard widget, rank status report, current paid-as rank, etc. are all calculated with the bonus run. This means that even though transactional data is updating ‘real-time’ (orders/volumes), the calculations of rank from those transactional data occur less frequency. Rank will always be as up-to-date as the last bonus run.
Stored Comp/Qual Agents Any data points that are stored as part of your Compensation Plan are updated with each bonus run. This can include specific (calculated) volume types, count of active downline members, rolling volume, and more.
Downline/Rep Groups While some of the Downline/Rep Groups are populated using order/volume information or genealogy structure, others are based on bonus/comp data. This means that these groups will be updated only after the bonus run occurs.
Comp Reports Personal and Team reports housed under Commissions and/or Organization leverage data from the bonus run. An easy way to check if a report is a comp report is to look for CompReport within the URL.
Bonus Based, Rank Qualification, and Volume Alerts Alerts informing a Rep when he/she has achieved or is close to achieving a bonus threshold or minimum volume amount, including rank achievement notifications, are based on comp agents, and are therefore updated after each bonus run occurs.

Additional bonus runs are very affordable, and can be allocated throughout a bonus period as you desire. For example, your one daily bonus run can be doubled to two daily bonus runs for only $50 per month. If you don’t want the extra run to occur each day throughout the month, you can move the 14 runs from the first two weeks to the last two weeks, resulting in a month with:

  • 1 Daily bonus run in weeks 1&2
  • 3 Daily bonus runs in weeks 3&4

Or, you can choose to hold them all until the last week, resulting in a month with:

  • 1 daily bonus run in weeks 1, 2, & 3
  • 5 daily bonus runs in week 4

Spend another $50, and you can add even more bonus runs! While limitations are necessary due to bonus run time, impact to overall site performance, etc. – these additional bonus runs can help you provide reporting your teams are asking for.
