The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on blood supplies around the world.
ByDesign will host its annual blood drive the first week of November (11/2-11/6) to support the heroes working on the front lines of our global community. ByDesign employees domestically and in APAC continue to work from home and will participate individually through their community blood bank.
Donating blood is essential to community health, and the need for blood is constant. As part of our nation’s critical infrastructure, healthy individuals can still donate in areas that have issued a shelter in place declaration or are operating under a phased reopening plan. Many countries have also adopted similar policies to allow for the continued donation of blood to meet the current and future needs.
To ensure both staff and healthy donors’ safety, blood centers worldwide are undertaking extraordinary public health measures such as social distancing, increased infection control procedures, and mandatory face coverings for staff and donors.
