Customer Programs

As our industry continues to evolve, we find more and more companies are looking to reward their customers for being brand ambassadors. With many already in place, we have seen clients leverage unique combinations of our existing tools to achieve their own customer program goals.

Many variations of these programs are possible out of the box, while some unique ones may require small enhancements to achieve.  Below are some examples of customer programs that can be configured using our current system:

Reward customers with credits or discounts when they refer new customers.

This configuration leverages the Promotions Engine. If you do not already have the Promotions Engine, reach out today to activate this tool in your backoffice.

    1. Activate the ‘Customer Referring #’ in Cart – this allows new customers to enter the referring customer’s ID, indicating they were referred from that original customer
      • Freedom Setting: JS_CART_NEWCUSTOMER_SHOW_REFERCUST_REQD
      • Freedom Setting: X2_CUSTOMERS_SHOW_REFERRING_CUSTOMERS_REPORT
    2. Use the Promotions Engine to configure the type of reward to give to the referring customer
      • Promo Conditions:
        1. Referred Customer Order – evaluates if the current order is a referred customer order
        2. Customer Referred Count – count of referred customers in the given period
          • Note: Additional criteria can be combined with the referred customer conditions, such as a minimum order total, or a specific customer type.
      • Promo Actions:
        1. Credits to Sponsor/Referer  – will apply credits to the sponsor or referrer upon order post
          • Award to: Rep, Customer, or both
          • Amount to Award: Flat, Percent of Order Total, Percent of Order Volume
          • Note: Alternative actions can be used to reward referring customers, or multiple actions can be used in conjunction with one another. For example, you can award the Discount-Order action to the customer who was referred, and award credits/discount to the customer who did the referring. This would result in a ‘Share 10% off, Get 10% off’ type of promotion.
    3. Activate relevant AutoResponders to notify customers and/or reps when rewards are earned.
      • AR Template: Order Post Promotion Awarded
      • Send to: Self, Referrer, Sponsor, Upline

Once configured, customers can simply share their ID with new customers in order to benefit from the program.

Reward customers with credits or cash when they sell to other customers or sponsor new representatives.

To make this option possible, you’ll need to create a new rep type that can be used for customers. This new rep type ensures each referring customer (often called ambassadors or affiliates) has a replicated site to which they can refer new leads.
Note: It’s important to verify that your compensation plan is or isn’t going to reward these new reps (customers) as intended.

      1. Create a new rep type
        • Admin > Settings > Reps > Rep Types
      2. Modify enrollment to account for this new rep type.
        • Creation of new enrollment item for this new rep type.
          1. This SKU will need to carry the attribute for the membership, at the appropriate term/time frame.
          2. You’ll likely want to create an Autoship item for the recurring membership payment as well.
        • Translations (if needed) to the enrollment page, to ensure enrollees understand each option.
      3. Set up new price rows for this rep type on all inventory items
        • This is required, even if the new rep type will have the same pricing as existing reps and/or customers
        • You can do this step yourself via the Inventory editor, or you can request a data repair to have the rows created for all inventory items (this is a billable service and typically takes 1-2 hours of dev time)
      4. Set up rewards for this new rep type by either:
        • Configuring promotions within the Promotions Engine (if rewarding with credits/discounts): Leverage the ‘Rep Type’ condition
        • Adding new bonus types to your compensation plan (if rewarding with cash): This requires new work/development.
      5. Adjust any existing settings to include/exclude the new rep type, as needed:
        • Autoresponders
        • Promotions
        • Reporting

Once configured, these customers (ambassadors/affiliates) can simply share their replicated site URL with new customers/leads in order to benefit from the program.
