Meet David Thompson
Senior Commissions Analyst
David grew up in Tampa, FL, actually not too far from ByDesign headquarters. He also spent some time in Sydney Australia where his interest for technology took off. He completed a degree in Computer Science and next thing you know he started working with ByDesign.
For the last 7+ years, his area of focus has been commissions and everything related to bonuses. Often providing valuable feedback and looking for ways to maximize the opportunities for your business when designing your compensation plan. From modifying your existing plan to helping you implement a new compensation plan, his insight into this area has made him a subject matter expert.
You would have never guessed that he is also one mean drummer. Not afraid to take the stage, he has played at international televised events viewed by over 1 million people! That’s only second nature to David since he has been drumming for more than twenty years and regularly plays for his local church on Sunday mornings. You may also catch him at a local park where he does drone racing or just chills out, enjoying precious family time with his wife and two daughters, Jasmin (pic) and Violet.
Next time you talk to David, beware, he may drumroll some notes into your compensation plan.
Back Office Improvements
As we reimagine Back Office 2.0 on the new SOA architecture, we are challenging the status quo of every screen. Our team wants to hear from you regarding the feature-rich, and perhaps too complicated “Create Return Order” process. This page is highly configurable and robust. Are you interested in guiding us in making the page simpler, powerful, and more user-friendly, all while keeping the extreme flexibility? Are there enough security rights for advanced features? Does anyone use the pricing flexibility? Is that too much flexibility? If you’d be interested in joining a focus group on this page (or any other future page), please email Miguel at miguel.andino@bydesign.com.
We would love to learn how you are taking advantage of this page or if you wish it could do just one more thing for you. Please email Miguel with your input.

Mastercard BIN 2 Series
Mastercard announced awhile back that effective October 2016, they would be issuing credit cards starting with a “2”. Since then, they’ve sent out numerous emails and warnings for merchant, processor and software partners to get on board or be fined. You may have also received such a notice.
Rest assured, Freedom is prepared and ready for the 2 series BIN numbers. Programming was completed in August 2016 readying us for this change. So if you get a notice, be confident that ByDesign’s portion is 100% done, tested and ready for action.
